In a society that judges every book by its prequel, how does one ever start afresh… forget about the pages gone by and set out to write a whole new story?
We are a collective of people born and raised in the best of both worlds - a progressive, broad-minded world that lets one be independent and aspire to live every dream; and a world built on a culture that helps cement the feeling of love and respect in definitive, lasting relationships. Why is it then, that when it comes to falling in love again, we have to choose being in one of the two worlds? Why does our culture not let two people, who have been through a sour relationship and finally found the right person to spend their life with, go ahead and seal their love in immovable finality?
Second marriage, for many, is still a taboo. And this story illustrates why it’s not. It’s a treatise on how the past doesn’t come in the way of love and respect. It’s a heroic tale of victory over stereotypes and archaic customs. It’s a story of how love always triumphs in the end. Every moment that we spent with Deepal and Nishant convinced us that life can be made beautiful… that tears can be turned into a drizzle of hope; that fear can be turned into the excitement of exploring the unknown; that the end is but a new beginning.

Hiba and Akbar's story took us on a journey all the way from Hiba's childhood till their reception in Bhopal and on the way we discovered an all new perspective of filming a wedding. We knew from start that no matter how hard we try we can never justify this wedding in a 5 minute film, but we tried, tried for a year now and this is the best we could do. It’s a film which is not just about a wedding, an India Pakistan story which is not about India or Pakistan. For us its much more than that. We feel blessed and inspired to have been given a chance to spend time with some of the warmest people and to witness an extraordinary tale of love.

SOUND OF LOVE
The moment we stepped into Richa’s house while the decorations were going on we knew that this wedding is going to be all about sounds. The sound of the pressure cooker, the frantic chopping of onions, the noise of the traditional spinning wheel - it all felt like music to our ears. We felt at home almost immediately when Richa’s dad gave us a tour of the food preps explaining the importance of each dish for the planned traditional welcome lunch. It just felt like a wedding in our own family.

We feel extremely privileged that we get to shoot weddings of Photographers, Architects, Musicians and Designers. Artists are a different breed of people and being chosen by them for their big day is our biggest award. This one was special too. A remote airbnb ,mountains ,Maggi and two people madly in love … what else you can ask for. The mood of this session was so painterly that we decided to convert the whole film into a series of paintings, next thing we were sitting and converting each frame of this two and a half minute video into a painting in photoshop. Five thousand six hundred and twenty eight frames later we got what this film really felt to us.

This is where it all started. Not only for us but for the whole industry - there will be films made before this and films made after this” .This film broke the template based model that was ongoing at that time and introduced a fresh perspective to showcase a wedding . A wedding is not only about two people , it is also about the celebration, about friends and we wanted to make sure that we do justice to all the aspects of the three day wedding. A lot of credit goes to the bride Nandini who blindly believed in us and was equally excited after seeing this film as we were.

If someone asks what we want to do for the rest of our lives - our answer would be that we want to shoot weddings like the wedding of Phyl and Anisha. Phyl is a Greek and Anisha is from Kerala and they beautifully merged both the traditions in equal proportions. Fun , Emotional and offbeat - this wedding had everything we love. But the film was not easy to make , the contrast of madness and emotions were so prominent that we struggled to justify both equally and we ended up making more than 8 versions of this before reaching a point where we felt - yes this is exactly how it happened - this is how their wedding was, this is exactly how Phyl and Anisha are.
